Consent-first AI

AI never silently overwrites your content. It suggests translations which humans must explicitly accept.

On-demand Generation

Generate suggestions contextually within the Translation Editor for a specific key and target language.

Decision Logging

Every AI suggestion, and the human decision to accept or reject it, is securely logged for auditing.

Override Detection

If a human edits an AI-accepted string, StringsOS detects it as an override to train future suggestions.

Trust, but verify

The primary product principle of StringsOS is: AI suggests; humans approve; every meaningful decision remains traceable. AI consent is controlled at the project level, ensuring sensitive projects remain entirely manual if required.

Generation

In the Translation Editor, whenever you select an untranslated key, you have the option to generate an AI suggestion. The AI context window includes the source string, the target locale, and any nearby context keys to ensure accurate tone and formatting. Generated suggestions are placed directly into the editor for human modification.

Oversight

StringsOS never applies AI suggestions silently. Every suggestion requires a human to explicitly accept it into the Draft state. Furthermore, if a human alters an AI-generated string, or if a change is made directly in a connected GitHub repository, StringsOS logs this as an Override, ensuring full transparency in the localization lifecycle.
